Holly Hunter is an American producer and actress who has been recognized for her incredibly praised performance in films like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. Holly Hunter received numerous awards which included The Oscar for her film Piano. She began her career acting as a performer on Broadway and Off Broadway. Acting has always been her passion. In fifth grade, she played Helen Keller. The actress was deaf in one ear due to mumps but did not allow this handicap to hinder her desire to be an actress. At college, she was a theatre student and then moved into New York City in pursuit of her goals. She met Beth Henley in an elevator and the two collaborated for Broadway Crimes of the Heart the first movie Hunter made. As she relocated to Los Angeles, Hunter tried to find the film role she wanted to appear in. An supporting role was secured in Swing Shift. She has appeared in countless film, television as well as movies throughout the span of her career. Holly Hunter has a Hollywood Walk of Fame actor and has won the Women in Film Lucy Award.
